The medium- to long-haul affiliate airline of AirAsia Aviation Group said the appointment will provide AAX executives with additional capacity to focus on strategic progress as it returns to the skies with a more robust model, delivering greater value to all stakeholders in the future.

“We are proud to announce Tunku Mahmood Fawzy as the newest addition to the AAX board. His long and respected history as a board member, key advisory committee member and chairman of various successful organisations, combined with his previous experience as a board member in the aviation industry, make him an ideal addition to AAX as we continue to accelerate our growth,” AAX non-independent non-ED and nomination committee member Datuk Fam Lee Ee said in a statement today.

Meanwhile, AAX Co-founder and non-independent ED Tan Sri Dr Tony Fernandes said Tunku Mahmood Fawzy is a great addition to the airline’s vision.

“The new era of AAX is just getting started and we are laser-focused on rebuilding it as a great value medium- to long-haul airline,” Fernandes said.

Meanwhile, Tunku Mahmood Fazwy said he looks forward to working closely with the board and the rest of the leadership team, especially AAX CEO Benyamin Ismail to capitalise on the many opportunities ahead for AAX.

“Having led multiple companies through successful growth, diversification and expansion, I feel ready to lend my expertise to take AAX to the next level,” he said in the same statement. — TMR / Pic courtesy of AAX
