TCRS launches ‘RM22 for 2’ deal; Marrybrown debuts Oishii Japan menu

ONE of Malaysians most beloved comfort food is the chicken rice. Be it at the stall or at a 5-star hotel, the chicken rice just gives a comforting, homey feel that satisfies the locals’ taste buds.

In conjunction with its 22nd anniversary, The Chicken Rice Shop (TCRS) is inviting everyone to savour one of the most perfect union of Malaysia’s favourite chicken and rice with its “RM22 for 2” deal, along with other exciting offers.

The homegrown halal family restaurant group is offering a meal for two at RM22, together with weekly best-for-value promos claimable exclusively till Aug 7, 2022, via sedapZ app — a loyalty and rewards programme available on both Apple App Store and Google Play Store. Customers will also stand a chance to win 22x iPhone SE upon minimum spending of RM22 at any TCRS outlets.

TCRS Restaurants Sdn Bhd CEO Wong Kah Yong said the company’s mission is to serve Malaysians of all races with the most authentic taste of local favourites.

“Initiatives such as this is our way of showing how appreciative we are of our loyal fans. We would not have made it to where we are today without our beloved customers. As such, we strived to continuously serve the best to our customers.”

Famous for its slogan “Chicken Rice…and More”, Wong said TCRS takes pride in being truly made in Malaysia and hopes to be able to give back to the community by introducing more delightful local dishes with great promotions and value-for-money meals.

The Oishii Burger buns, as well as the aptly named Sakura Fizz, sport a vibrant shade of pink meant to evoke in the minds of customers the vision of Sakura field or the vivid streets of Tokyo.

Pricing-wise, the two-piece Oishii Chicken combo, with Potato Wedges and Sakura Fizz, starts at RM20.50. The Oishii Rice Bowl Combo, featuring Marrybrown’s crispy chicken drizzled in Teriyaki Wasabi sauce with a side of rice and a Sakura Fizz Drink, is priced from RM12.90.

Or opt to try a bit of everything with Marrybrown’s Oishii Box Meal comprising an Oishii Burger, one-piece Oishii Chicken, Potato Wedges and Sakura Fizz priced from RM23.90.

Marrybrown CEO Datuk Joshua Liew said the characteristics of Japanese food can be rather similar to Malaysian cuisine, where they are tasty, fresh, well portioned and unique in every of their dishes. That is why Malaysians are generally very receptive towards Japanese food.

“We are confident that Oishii Japan menu will appeal to all food lovers, as the quality of our ingredients combined with the R&D (research and development) we did for this menu is something different, yet rich in flavour and appetising for all taste buds.”
