IJM Corp Bhd has named Datuk Wong Tuck Wai (left) as the new CEO of IJM Land Bhd (left) and Vino Kumar Selvabalakrishnan as the new CEO of Kuantan Port Consortium Sdn Bhd.
The former will begin his new role on July 1, 2022, while Vino will assume office on June 27, 2022.
Wong is a seasoned industry veteran with a distinguished career spanning 45 years in the property sector. His previous roles include SP Setia Bhd’s deputy president and COO.
Vino, on the other hand, is experienced in improving the service quality, productivity and efficiency of international marine and vessel operations.
He held senior management positions with CMA CGM SA — a leading worldwide shipping and logistics group in France and the US — and GB Group Haiti, as the CEO of Port Lafito — Haiti’s largest and deepest multipurpose port.
IJM Group CEO and MD Liew Hau Seng said both Wong and Vino will bring new ideas to their businesses and work toward a clear vision for change and creating value in the markets they serve.
“We have challenged our status quo by bringing in external talents for senior management positions. The lens that we adopted in evaluating the candidates focused on the group’s strategic priorities and the key characteristics required to achieve them.
“We are thrilled to welcome Wong and Vino to the group and we look forward to benefitting from their new vantage points, insights and leadership. Together with IJM’s strong leadership team, these appointments mark a new chapter as we position the group for its next phase of growth,” Liew said in a statement today.
On Wong’s appointment, Liew expected him to drive IJM Land into a new growth phase, focusing on raising the bar with the quality and innovative offerings and sharpening product differentiation and building brand equity by harnessing the synergies that exist within the Property Division.
Whereas for Vino, Liew anticipated that the Kuantan Port will strengthen its capacity to meet high growth demands and to take advantage of trade opportunities in the coming years, and his appointment will help Kuantan Port deliver on its vision to be a premier port and logistics hub under his leadership.
