HUAWEI Malaysia has launched the “Seeds for the Future” Alumni Fraternity as it concluded eight years of paving way for young talents to upskill digitally through Huawei technology ecosystem.
Seeds for the Future is a part of Huawei’s flagship global corporate social responsibility programme, which aims to cultivate more ICT talent by bringing together young global talent to participate in the exchange programmes in China while honing their professional growth.
Huawei Asia Pacific VP Jun Zhang said the Alumni Fraternity is an avenue for its global members to reinforce the knowledge, networking and collaborative alliance for a better digital workforce of tomorrow.
“We see this as a continuation. We do not want your journey with us to end when you leave the programme.
“We want you to know that we are there for you and that there are others like you, waiting to share their experiences and knowledge with you,” he said, addressing the alumni, during the launch at DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel Kuala Lumpur on Monday.
He reiterated Huawei’s commitment to providing this platform for its members to network, share thoughts, collaborate, as well as reach experts and leaders.
To date, 116 students from various top universities have enrolled in this exclusive upskilling opportunity training, leveraging Huawei’s wealth of cutting-edge technological capabilities and resources.
The programme is also Huawei’s long-term collaboration with the Higher Education Ministry (MoHE).
MoHE Minister Datuk Seri Noraini Ahmad said this initiative has addressed the challenges of graduate employability, an area of great importance to the ministry.
Students were now exposed to the working culture of Huawei — which is a Global Fortune 500 company — international networking as well as a greater understanding of the ICT industry.
She added that the setting up of the Seeds for the Future Alumni Fraternity is also in line with the idea that leadership development is a continuous journey.
“I hope this Alumni Fraternity will be a constant source of reference and inspiration for our young leaders in meeting future challenges and the foundation of long-lasting friendships,” Noraini said.
