MALAYSIA Airlines Bhd (MAB) beat more than 133 countries to take home the best employer title at World Human Resource (HR) Development Congress’ “Malaysia Best Employer Brand Awards 2022”.

At the same time, MAB’s group legal department won the “Counsels of the Year Awards 2021” for the In-House Industry-Aviation Category organised by the In-House Community.

The former was based on research studies conducted by HR professionals and organisations where winners are selected based on how their organisations leverage their employer branding strategies and communications in attracting, retaining and developing talents, as well as management of its retention policy.

It also recognises Malaysia’s top organisations who are leaders in preparing for the future.

This is driven by exemplary performance in translating and combining HR strategy with the business, and effectively using communications for HR development in their respective industries.

Meanwhile, the group legal department had beaten more than 51 finalists from a total of 160 nominees which was attributed to being able to develop their own automated contracting process as well as digitalising its workflow in under six months.

The legal counsels have also successfully concluded MAB’s parent Malaysia Aviation Group (MAG) financial restructuring exercise within a record four and a half months.

Additionally, the group won the “Restructuring Deal of the Year” award at the recent Airline Economics’ “The Aviation 100 Deals of the Year Awards 2022” in May.

MAG group CEO Izham Ismail said armed with six core beliefs, which include “People is Our True North”, “Customer is Our Centre of Gravity” and “Digital is Our Universe”, the group continues to innovate and deliver value to its customers and stakeholders.

“Having been recognised for our strong commitment to these beliefs, we are undoubtedly aligned with our long-term business plan,” he said in a statement today.
