PBM appoints Zuraida as president-designate

PARTI Bangsa Malaysia (PBM) has accepted the application for membership by Ampang MP Datuk Zuraida Kamaruddin (picture) and appointed her as its new president-designate.

PBM president Larry Sng said the party’s Supreme Council will meet again to restructure the party’s constitution to enable the leadership transition process to run smoothly and orderly.

“Zuraida is an authoritative and experienced leader with a vision that is in line with the aspirations of PBM, which wants holistic change in shaping Malaysia to become a developed nation.

“With this decision, we hope PBM will be able to further enhance the politics of service to help Malaysians have a better life,” he said in a statement today.

He added that PBM would continue to fight for the “Reset Agenda” with six main pillars, namely strengthening inter-racial unity, increasing youth involvement, empowering the role of women, national economic development, generating science and technology development, and improving the quality of education in Malaysia.

Zuraida had previously left PKR in 2020 to join Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia, where she was appointed as Minister of Plantation Industries and Commodities.
