MALAYSIA Airlines Bhd is expanding its newest direct flight from Kuala Lumpur (KL) to Tokyo Haneda starting Aug 14.
This marks the airline’s fourth route to Japan after KL to Osaka and Tokyo Narita, as well as Kota Kinabalu to Tokyo Narita.
In a statement today, the national carrier said that the expansion will complement Malaysia’s existing KL to Tokyo Narita operations, allowing for more convenient and flexible itineraries as well as access beyond both cities via the respective international hubs in Japan.
Its group CEO Captain Izham Ismail said the expansion is set to enhance the connectivity between the Asean market and drive a greater traffic recovery between Malaysia and Japan.
“As the national carrier, we are committed to ensuring that everyone can fly confidently with us, guided by exceptional Malaysian hospitality and a wide range of services and offerings for our customers wherever they fly with us,” Izham said.
The expansion will also allow the group to tap into new opportunities by operating in Asia’s third-busiest and fourth-busiest airports in the world.
“This stimulates inbound traffic to benefit Malaysian tourism and build a stronger multiplier effect across the value chain of the industry,” he said.
Malaysia Airlines had received a seven-star rating for its extensive Covid-19 health and safety measures from Airline Ratings and is a Travel Safe Alliance Malaysia member.
