PRIME Minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob yesterday launched Tabung Haji’s (TH) Strategic Transformation Plan, Hijrah24, to ensure the national haj management institution remains future-proof and competitive for the benefit of its depositors, pilgrims and Malaysian Muslims.
Hijrah24 consists 24 initiatives that will be implemented collectively by TH employees from 2022 until 2024.
The initiatives will cover five key thrusts — namely outstanding pilgrimage management in haj services, generating sustainable returns and asset surplus, increasing stable deposits through efficient, dependable, and customer-focused services, developing and nurturing best-in-class talents, and improving governance through the application of Maqasid Shariah principles.
TH chairman Tan Sri Azman Mokhtar (picture) believed that the implementation of Hijrah24 will enable the institution to strengthen its position to meet the evolving demands of stakeholders.
“Implementing Hijrah24 will allow TH to further protect itself and its depositors, as well as improve operational efficiency and increase income and returns,” he said.
The six main objectives of Hijrah24 include raising total deposits to RM100 billion and to obtain more than half of Malaysian Muslims as depositors.
It also targets to increase THiJARI digital users to four million by 2024, customer satisfaction index of greater than 90%, improve employee engagement index by more than 75% and to have a customer satisfaction index of over 90%.
The plan also seeks to implement an annual profit distribution that exceeds Islamic banking returns.
TH MD and CEO Datuk Seri Amrin Awaluddin said TH is committed to implementing Hijrah24 comprehensively.
“We hope that it will catalyse the institution to assume a stronger and more sustainable position,” he said.
Meanwhile, Ismail Sabri said as a world-class haj management institution, TH must always be ready for a change to remain relevant.
“I am sure TH has identified services that can be adapted to the norm, new and current situations, in addition to resilience and being ready to face the future.
“Hijrah24 is believed to be able to revive business activities as well as TH investment to ensure continuity and its continuous excellence,” he said.
He also presented donations to 30 orphans at the event.
