KUALA LUMPUR – Yayasan Peneraju Pendidikan Bumiputera (Yayasan Peneraju), has named Datuk Dr Abdul Latiff Ahmad (picture) as chairman of its board of trustees, effective March 31, 2022.
In a statement today, the agency said the appointment of Abdul Latiff, who is a Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department (Special Functions), is expected to stimulate and drive its aspiration in nurturing and developing human capital and making them competitive in various sectors.
“Dr Abdul Latiff is passionate about the Train & Place programme which he believes will address employability issues, especially among fresh graduates, youth and marginalised groups.
“Train & Place programme, which is part of an essential strategy to improve the skills of the workforce and minimise unemployment, offers funding and employment guarantees in Malaysian companies for graduates,” it added.
Yayasan Peneraju is an agency that has been mandated to increase the quality, quantity, and relevance of Bumiputera talents in a high-income economy through academic education, technical and vocational education and training (TVET), professional, technology, and specialist certifications funding programmes.
The agency has to date trained over 46,000 talents nationwide through its more than 370 funding programmes, and is fulfilling demand from the industry by supplying a quality workforce.
