TOUCH N GO (TNG) eWallet has been selected to participate in the Ministry of Finance’s (MOF) ePemula.
The decision supports the government’s initiatives in promoting a cashless lifestyle among youths by lifting their burden and encouraging offline businesses to go cashless.
Through this initiative, Malaysians aged between 18 to 20 years and also those studying full-time at higher education institutes are able to claim the RM150 ePemula credit.
Meanwhile, they will be rewarded with more than RM200 worth of vouchers from TNG’s merchant partners, which include more than 25 brands such as Starbucks, 7-Eleven, Lazada, Tealive, MR D.I.Y., Uniqlo, Hotlink and Firefly.
ePemula is only applicable between the period of April 11 until June 1 while its claims can only be purchased offline and must be used by June 10.
The RM150 ePemula credit cannot be transferred to other ewallet accounts or be used for any app-integrated transactions.
According to TNG Digital Sdn Bhd CEO Alan Ni, they have the largest network of physical retail merchants to meet the lifestyle needs of the youth.
“As Malaysians recover during this endemic, we are aligned with the government’s approach to not only revive Malaysia’s economy via digitalisation but also ensure that the next generation of Malaysia reaps the benefits through financial support and safer transaction avenues.
“Parents are also urged to encourage their eligible children to claim with us as we also reward them with our offline and online merchants’ vouchers to help them with their needs,” he said in a statement.
Ni encourages parents to use TNG’s services as they can provide a safer payment option and they are available at most physical shops around them.
To enjoy the benefits of the RM150 ePemula, the Malaysian youth would need to download the TNG eWallet app on their smartphones and complete their account verification process.
