THE standard operating procedures for the Vaccinated Travel Lane (VTL) by air with Cambodia, Singapore and Thailand will be standardised by utilising the “Test and Release” method where travellers no longer need to await their Covid-19 test results within the terminal upon arrival.
Transport Minister Datuk Seri Dr Wee Ka Siong said travellers only need to conduct a Covid-19 swab test upon arrival and will then be allowed to proceed to their respective accommodations as declared in MySejahtera Home Surveillance Order via private transport, taxi or hired vehicles.
“They must then self-isolate whilst awaiting their Covid-19 test results which will be given within 24 hours. They will be cleared from isolation upon a negative test result,” Wee said in a statement yesterday.
In the event of a positive result, travellers are to comply with existing health protocols prescribed by the Ministry of Health.
Malaysia has expanded the VTL with Thailand and Cambodia starting yesterday and it will reopen borders fully on April 1.
