Govt maintains SWN model for 5G, opens up DNB equity

THE government has decided to maintain implementation of 5G network by using a Single Wholesale Network (SWN) while at the same time offering up to 70 per cent of DNB’s equity stake to telecommunication companies.

The Government will continue to hold 30 per cent of the equities, said Ministry of Finance and Communications and Multimedia (KKMM) ministry in a joint press conference today.

Ownership, equity value and other aspects related to this proposed equity participation are subject to negotiations between DNB and telecommunications companies, where the agreement is targeted to be finalised in the near future, they said.
