A MALAYSIA Airlines Bhd (MAB) Airbus 330-300 aircraft is flying the Harimau Malaya livery in its collaboration with the Football Association of Malaysia (FAM).
The aircraft, which features the red and white stripes of the Malaysian flag with the majestic Harimau Malaya emblem, was revealed yesterday at the Engineering Complex, Kuala Lumpur International Airport.
It was designed by Dr Mohamed Razeef Abdul Razak and Dr Verly Veto Vermol from the College of Creative Arts, Universiti Teknologi Mara.
This is part of MAB’s ongoing support of the national football team, with the latest extended partnership agreement from 2019 until 2023, signifying the close collaboration and shared visions of the two Malaysian brands.
The ceremony was attended by MAB group CEO captain Izham Ismail, FAM president Datuk Hamidin Mohd Amin and key representatives from both parties.
“As flag bearers of our beloved country, both MAB and FAM have a responsibility to play their part in representing Malaysia at the highest level in terms of safety, discipline and commitment to excellence.
“Through this partnership, we look forward to supporting and facilitating safe and seamless travel for our national football team as they embark on key tournaments throughout destinations within and outside of MAB’s network, so that together, we can fly proudly and bring our hospitality spirit wherever we go,” Izham said.
The airline will soon fly the Under-23 (U23) squad to Phnom Penh, Cambodia to compete in the U23 Asean Football Federation Championship 2022.
At the same event, MAB also revealed the Harimau Malaya x Enrich 2022 Card for its frequent flyers.
The exclusive card offers special privileges such as member-only contests to watch Harimau Malaya matches, exclusive invitations to selected FAM events and special discounts from Enrich partners, among others.
