THE National Recovery Council (NRC) is proposing to fully reopen the country’s borders as early as March 1, without the need for mandatory quarantine.

Its chairman Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin (picture) said however, travellers must take the Covid-19 test immediately before their departure and upon arrival in the country, as per the recommendations by the Health Ministry (MoH).

“The reopening of the country’s border must be implemented in a planned and careful manner based on the current risk assessment,” he said at a press conference after chairing the NRC meeting in Putrajaya today.

He added that the reopening of borders would support the country’s recovery process moving forward.
