The Malaysian Association of Tour and Travel Agents (Matta) wants Quartet to immediately approve the standard operating procedures (SOP) and home quarantine order following the resumption of Umrah travels beginning Feb 8, 2022.
Matta president Mohd Azri Abd Razak said given the reopening period is within a week from now, details should be released immediately to facilitate a smooth process for the parties involved.
The association also suggested that fully vaccinated pilgrims should be allowed to undergo self-quarantine at home while those who have obtained booster shots would not be required for quarantine if their polymerase chain reaction (PCR) test results are negative.
For pilgrims who are tested positive, they should be placed at quarantine centres provided by the government.
