ProtectHealth Corporation Sdn Bhd announced today its support for the National COVID-19 Immunisation Program for Children (PICKids), a government-led initiative to immunise children against COVID-19 through the involvement of private medical practitioners (PMPs).

It comes after Deputy Minister of Health Datuk Dr Noor Azmi Ghazali said that the first phase of PICKids would commence on February 3, 2022.

ProtectHealth CEO Datuk Dr. Anas Alam Faizli, indicated that ProtectHealth, through PMPs, will continue to help and collaborate with the Ministry of Health to maximise PICKids implementation.

“ProtectHealth will ensure that all the PPVs under ProtectHealth, including PPV Integrasi, Offsite PPVs and selected Private Hospital PPV will be fully prepared and ready to accommodate children aged 5 to below 12 years old to be administered with the vaccine and served with the highest standards.”

The initial idea was to undertake PICKids in the Klang Valley via hospitals for children with comorbidities, while vaccinations would be administered at the Vaccination Centres (PPV) Integrasi for children without medical problems.

As of January 27, 2022, more than 63.1 million vaccination doses had been provided, with 51.5 percent of those doses (32.4 million) contributed by private medical practitioners (PMPs) and healthcare non-governmental organisations (NGOs) through ProtectHealth.
