Khairussaleh named as the new Maybank CEO

Malayan Banking Bhd (Maybank) has named Datuk Khairussaleh Ramli as its new group president and chief executive officer (CEO) effective May 1, 2022.

The bank said that Khairussaleh’s appointment has been approved by Bank Negara Malaysia (BNM).

In a statement on Wednesday, the banking group announced that Khairussaleh has tendered his resignation effective March 25, 2022. He has taken leave of absence since Jan 24.

He is succeeding its current group president and CEO Datuk Seri Abdul Farid Alias who would step down on August 1.

“Datuk Khairussaleh re-joins the Maybank family and brings with him a wealth of knowledge and experience from the financial services and capital markets industry of close to 30 years.

“We are confident that with his vast experience, he will be able to lead Maybank in its next growth phase, pillared on the M25 focus areas of digitalisation, sustainability and new value drivers,” said Maybank chairman Tan Sri Zamzamairaini Mohd Isa in a statement today.

Prior to joining RHB Banking Group, Khairussaleh was with Maybank between November 2008 and September 2013.–TMR
