PETRONAS Energy & Gas Trading Sdn Bhd (PEGT), a wholly-owned subsidiary of Petronas, today announced the successful completion of its 1,000th LNG supply via its Virtual Pipeline System (VPS).
The delivery of the milestone VPS was made to a customer in Chemor, Perak.
Since its beginning in 2020, the VPS solution has been important in delivering sustainable energy to off-grid consumers, with approximately 16 million kg of low-carbon energy delivered by cryogenic vehicles.
Mohd Khairuddin Abdul Khalik, the CEO of PETRONAS Energy & Gas Trading commented, “We are proud to commemorate the 1,000th delivery milestone and be a one-stop centre for gas supply to off-grid customers.”
“With the necessary infrastructure in place together with world class safe and reliable operations, the VPS solution reflects our commitment as a progressive energy and solutions partner to power the world sustainably,” he added.
The VPS solution enables customers to power their enterprises more sustainably with natural gas.
According to Khairuddin, this milestone demonstrates the stability of PEGT’s VPS solution, which continues to expand low-carbon energy access for clients who are not served by main gas pipelines.
PEGT’s Regasification Terminal (RGT) is located in Pengerang, Johor. It provides supply, loading facilities, and logistic services to off-grid businesses via the VPS solution.
