THE one-day special meeting in Parliament today will not debate on the scandal surrounding Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) chief commissioner Tan Sri Azam Baki.

The motion was filed by Pulai MP Datuk Sri Salahuddin Ayub and Teluk Intan MP Nga Kor Ming and was received by Dewan Rakyat Speaker Tan Sri Azhar Azizan Harun two days ago.

However, Azhar Azizan said he did not receive any notice from Prime Minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob on the matter.

“The special meeting was called by the PM based on his absolute power as stated in Standing Order 11(3) where he will set the orders of the day.

“Therefore, I do not have the power to set or approve the motion because the agenda today has been set by the PM and until today I have yet to receive any notice from the PM on the matter. So I assume the motion will not be included in the Order Paper,” he said in the Dewan Rakyat today.
