LaLaport BBCC opens to public today

The Japanese-originated lifestyle mall is Mitsui Fudosan’s 1st regional mall in South-East Asia

THE Mitsui Shopping Park LaLaport Bukit Bintang City Centre (LaLaport BBCC) is open to the public today, making the mall to become Mitsui Fudosan Co Ltd’s first regional retail facility in South-East Asia and the largest among all LaLaport malls including those in Japan. 

The LaLaport BBCC is Mitsui Fudosan’s second LaLaport shopping mall overseas after Mitsui Shopping Park LaLaport Shanghai Jinqiao. 

The Japanese-originated lifestyle shopping mall highlights the urban, sophisticated architectural design and interior design that embodies the warmth of nature with its theme of modern simplicity and Japanese flavour. 

Mitsui Fudosan (Asia) Malaysia MD Kohei Kawashima said since the opening of Mitsui Fudosan in 1981, the company has strived to grow together with the local community by continuing to keep in step with developments and changes. 

“Today, Mitsui Fudosan has 16 LaLaport shopping centres in Japan that are providing a full range of enjoyment for its Japanese customers in respective regions. 

“Mitsui Fudosan is actively developing the commercial facility business in Asian countries and regions including Shanghai and Taiwan with its experience cultivated over the years in Japan,” he said in a media preview event recently. 

Located at the city centre of Bukit Bintang, the mall consists of five floors above ground and five floors below with approximately 78,500 sqm. 

The shopping mall houses over 400 shop lots covering fashion, lifestyle, food and beverage, beauty and personal care, specialty services, kids and maternity, home furniture, pharmacy, supermarket and entertainment. 

With the opening up of LaLaport BBCC, the locals are within reach of the Japanese culture with recognisable Japanese stores with the first ever outlet in Malaysia including Nitori, Coo & Riku, Don Q, Matcha Eight, Zoff and many more. 

Moreover, the common space is also one of the attractions offering a central rooftop garden with 360° views of the Kuala Lumpur landscape, WOW plaza and Zepp concert hall. 

LaLaport BBCC also offers three dining areas to fulfil the local’s appetite with Depachika Marche dedicated for takeaway convenience, Gourmet Street for an al fresco dining experience and the Garden Dining with family dining area. 

To enhance the new shopping experience, LaLaport BBCC provides customer service and store support including loyalty reward point programme through the LaLaport MY mobile app as a onestop customer service on smartphones and live streaming utility for customers to get latest info on stores. 

It is also the first shopping mall in Malaysia to provide an ergonomic and hygienic staff lounge for all its tenants to rewind and relax with amenities such as napping space and powder room.
