MBI Selangor channels RM1.5m flood relief

THE Selangor Mentri Besar (Inc) (MBI Selangor) has distributed RM1.5 million to flood victims in the state through the Corporate Social Responsibility Department.

MBI Selangor said in a statement yesterday that the assistance involves charity money, food and necessities, cleaning equipment to staff and the public according to the State Legislative Assembly, land and district offices, and government agencies in the state.

“At the state government level, MBI Selangor and several owned companies also contributed more than RM1.3 million to the Selangor Bangkit Ikhtiar Fund which was established to help flood victims in Selangor.

“It is hoped that the donations will help reduce the burden and grief of the staff and flood victims involved to rebuild their lives,” MBI Selangor said.

At the same time, MBI Selangor also took a swift initiative by giving RM3,000 donation together with basic necessities including food, mattresses, blankets and pillows donated by Bukit Beruntung Golf Resort Sdn Bhd to each of its affected employees.

MBI Selangor stated the cleaning work of staff houses affected by the floods was also carried out through gotong royong by 30 volunteers consisting of its staff.
