PUNB, Air Selangor extends help for flood victims

PERBADANAN Usahawan Nasional Bhd (PUNB) is offering a moratorium on principal and profit for up to six months beginning Jan 1, 2022.

PUNB chairman Datuk Ahmad Nazlan Idris (picture) said the initiative aims to reduce the financial burden borne by its entrepreneurs’ partners affected by the floods.

“So far, a total of 53 PUNB Entrepreneur Partner companies in Selangor, Pahang, Kuala Lumpur (KL), Melaka and Negri Sembilan were reportedly affected by the floods with losses estimated to be close to RM10.5 million.

“Therefore, PUNB’s Entrepreneur Partners who are facing difficulties to continue their commitment financing payments may apply for a moratorium subject to the conditions already set,” he said in a recent statement.

Eligible entrepreneur partners can contact the assigned monitoring officer supervise accounts by phone or email.

Last week, Air Selangor said it is exempting January’s water bill payment for flood victims in Selangor and KL.

This initiative is part of the Bantuan Selangor Bangkit programme which was announced by the Selangor government recently.

“Affected customers do not have to make any payment for the services during the period even though the bill is issued to them,” the company said in a statement, adding that the victims involved are already automatically identified.

Air Selangor also expressed sympathy with the plight of the victims and hoped that this assistance will help ease their burden.
