THE 1Malaysia People’s Housing Programme (PR1MA) has allocated financial and workforce assistance for victims of the recent flood.
Its chairman Datuk Dr Fathul Bari Mat Jahya said the Flood Disaster Relief 2021 #PR1MAKita initiative is a step taken to ease the burden of families, especially its staff, PR1MA homebuyers, and the community who are affected by the crisis.
“This is the best time for us to help each other empower our loved and respected families.
“Hence, in line with the aspects of inclusiveness and togetherness, PR1MA as an agency under the Housing and Local Government Ministry (KPKT) acts proactively in playing its role and initiatives to support and assist the communities affected by this flood disaster,” Fathul said in a statement yesterday.
He said PR1MA will work together with the government to assist flood victims in affected areas.
Meanwhile, PR1MA opened a channel to assist PR1MA homebuyers who have signed a sale and purchase agreement and are currently renting at another residence pending completion.
“For the affected buyers, PR1MA will be in touch directly to ensure that they can be helped as much as possible.
“PR1MA will also provide assistance in the form of food baskets and daily essentials of 2,000 sets of mattresses, pillows and blankets, as well as 3,000 sets of towels for those affected,” he added.
Besides that, PR1MA will send 400 staff to several locations in Selangor to assist with cleaning and aid distribution to the flood victims which is in line with its corporate, social and responsibility under the PR1MAKita aspiration.
PR1MA CEO Datuk Mohd Nazri Md Shariff said PR1MA is working with KPKT and its agencies such as the Fire and Rescue Department of Malaysia, as well as the Solid Waste and Public Cleansing Management Corp to ensure proper coordination and work.
“I hope that the assistance will alleviate the aggravation of those currently affected by this unforeseen misfortune,” he said in the same statement.
