Kelington’s unit bags contract worth RM110m 

KELINGTON Group Bhd’s wholly-owned subsidiary Kelington Engineering (S) Pte Ltd secured an award of contract from the Customer who is a global leader in engineering and project management of high-technology facilities to undertake the gas system distribution works for one of the technology leaders in silicon wafer manufacturer’s new manufacturing facility in Singapore. In a filing to Bursa Malaysia yesterday the company said the project is expected to be completed by May 2023. The contract is expected to contribute positively to the earnings and net assets of Kelington for the financial years ending Dec 31, 2022 and Dec 31, 2023. 

Pertama Digital enters into fibre broadband service 

PERTAMA Digital Bhd is in advanced investment and collaboration negotiations with iFIBER Holdings Sdn Bhd to deliver gigabit-speed Internet connectivity to the rakyat at affordable rates. iFIBER is a licensed Malaysian telecommunications company that creates an open-access network that enables users to instantly switch between multiple Internet service providers. The company builds last-mile Internet infrastructure to provide affordable yet super-fast fibre broadband to premises in Malaysia. 

Iris Capital to raise RM168m for SE Asia start-ups 

IRIS Capital Partners Sdn bhd, a debt venture firm backed by Malaysia’s Finance Ministry, is set to raise US$40 million (RM168.4 million) next year to back start-ups in the country and elsewhere in South-East Asia, its top executive said. “While venture debt is still nascent in the region, it has gained popularity among Asian start-ups in the past five years,” chairman Wan Kamaruzaman Wan Ahmad said in an emailed interview. Iris Capital, which is co-managed by South Korea’s Hanwha Asset Management Co Ltd, has screened more than 500 companies since being set up last year. It has invested in firms including Growthwell Group, an alternative meat producer backed by Singapore’s state investor Temasek Holdings Pte Ltd and US-based GGV Capital. — Bloomberg
