MALAYSIA’S online florist and purveyor of gifts, BloomThis, has opened its warehouse in anticipation of the growing customer demand during the festive season.
The newly moved-in warehouse and office is situated in a 40,000 sq ft area in Petaling Jaya consisting of five floors including ground floor with few cold rooms to store fresh flowers, space to store non-flower items, cargo lift up to the production floor, raw material room, training space and a studio.
“We are very grateful that despite the challenges we faced during the Movement Control Order (MCO), BloomThis was still able to double our growth, expand our team and do our part to contribute to the gig economy by offering more than a thousand delivery and freelancer jobs every month,” BloomThis co-founder and CEO Gidden Lim said in a recent event with the media.
Started in 2015 with flower subscription model where customers are able to order flowers on weekly basis, BloomThis has transformed its model to becoming an on-demand gifting e-commerce business catering designer fresh flowers, artisanal cakes, ice creams, personalisation of handcrafted gifts, balloons, plush toys, chocolates, beverage and plants among others.
BloomThis uses an integrated technology with gifting experience. By leveraging on technology that powers operational excellence paired with innovation, creativity and resilience, BloomThis now offers on-demand deliveries within four hours of order submission.
During the MCO phase, the company faced challenges where most delivery areas were restricted and difficult for the business to procure flowers from its usual suppliers overseas.
BloomThis managed to pull through and the new warehouse can now cater to a wide range of luxurious gifts for customers to drive its productivity and sales. Their service is now available outside of the Klang Valley including Penang, Johor and Singapore.
