A total of 6,046 brought-in-dead cases due to Covid-19 was recorded from Jan 1 until Dec 4 this year, according to the Health Ministry’s data.
Total deaths due to the virus during the same period was 30,360.
As of this morning, there were 30,746 deaths in the country due to Covid-19.
“Our data shows death among non vaccinated and partially vaccinated is 3200 persons/mortality per 1 million population.
Among fully vaccinated breakthrough deaths is only 160 person/mortality per 1 mil pop. Whilst in the boosted population death is 4 person/mortality per 1 mil population,” Health DG Tan Sri Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah said on his Twitter.
“In a nutshell death from Covid-19 is 20x higher among the unvaccinated population as compared to the vaccinated population,” he added.
Malaysia also reported 5,446 new Covid cases today, bringing the cumulative number of cases to 2,678,465. –TMR/ pic by HUSSEIN SHAHARUDDIN
