THE Bumiputera Development Action 2030 (TPB2030) is a catalyst for creating an ecosystem for Bumiputera development, in line with rapid global and technological growth.

Prime Minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob (picture) said the spirit behind TPB2030 is to produce a new generation of competent Bumiputeras, centred on pure values, a personality with integrity, perseverance, independent and competitive in terms of effort and thinking.

“We want a capable, qualified generation as well as having the recognition to be able to seize opportunities in the country and abroad, further boosting the position of Bumiputera as a distinguished and dignified race.

“TPB2030 will also ensure continuity to policy and previous Bumiputera empowerment initiatives, with current adjustment,” he said in his speech at the launch of TPB2030 today.

Ismail Sabri said although Bumiputera is the majority racial group in the country at 20.9 million, or 69.7% of the population, their socio-economic status is at a level that still needs improvement, especially in terms of the wealth gap, income gap and low asset ownership.

“Bumiputeras need to be helped in new and more structured ways. Inclusive from Perlis to Sarawak and Sabah, as I mentioned before, nobody will be left out or forgotten, in line with the essence of the 12th Malaysia Plan,” he added.

TPB2030 outlines six main targets which are expected to be achieved by 2030 through seven main economic growth activities.
