KUALA TERENGGANU – The flood situation in Terengganu has not seen much improvement as 26 people from nine families are still taking shelter at the only remaining relief centre this morning.
According to the State Disaster Management Committee secretariat’s statement, the relief centre still opened is at Sekolah Kebangsaan Atas Tol, Kuala Terengganu.
Good weather is expected over the state today.
The Department of Irrigation and Drainage’s, through the portal https://publicinfobanjir.water.gov.my also reported that all rivers were at the normal level as at 8 am.
Meanwhile, in KELANTAN, 33 evacuees from six families, including 12 children, still had to stay at the relief centre at Sekolah Kebangsaan Tok Deh in Rantau Panjang near Pasir Mas as at 9am today.
Social Welfare Department officer Mas Azizan Aziz said this was because stagnant flood water still inundated their houses.
“We hope the good weather forecasted today will improve the flood situation and eventually allow the evacuees to return to their respective homes,” she added.
