AMBANK Group has received two awards this year as a recognition for its commitment to its group-wide sustainability agenda.

AmBank (M) Bhd was accorded Malaysia’s Best Bank for CSR 2021 at the Asiamoney Best Bank Awards 2021.

It was also accorded the “Highly Commended” Award under the Large Organisation category at the Sustainable Business Awards (SBA) Malaysia 2020/21.

“The various environmental and societal issues plaguing us has prompted the need for corporations and financial institutions to serve not only an economic, but an environment and social purpose.

“Today, the Covid-19 pandemic is a painful reminder that financial institutions are exposed to financial risks stemming from potential disruption to the global supply chain and customers’ operations,” AmBank Group CEO Datuk Sulaiman Mohd Tahir said.

“In AmBank Group, sustainability or ‘Integrating ESG Considerations into Our Business’ is one of the pillars of our Focus 8 Strategy. We believe that our ability to sustain our profitability and relevance is intrinsically dependent on the long-term prosperity of the planet and societies which we serve,” he added.

Representing AmBank Group to receive the SBA Award was AmBank Islamic Bhd CEO Eqhwan Mokhzanee in the presence of Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department for Economic Affairs Datuk Seri Mustapa Mohamed during a virtual presentation ceremony which was held in September 2021.
