THE National Higher Education Fund Corporation (PTPTN) has received a contribution of RM100,000 from the Office of Member of Parliament for Kubang Kerian, Datuk Seri Tuan Ibrahim Tuan Man (picture), to be given to 2,000 students.
In a statement, PTPTN said that each student will receive RM50 which will be deposited directly into the Simpan Skim Simpanan Pendidikan Nasional (SSPN) Prime account and as an encouragement to parents and children to start saving for higher education purposes in the future.
He said the Kubang Kerian Member of Parliament’s office was the first in Kelantan to contribute to the SSPN Prime for the welfare of students in the area and it showed the concern and strong support of various parties, especially the Member of Parliament in the aspect of education.
“Hopefully, this effort will be an example to the offices of other MPs to ensure that Malaysian children have the best savings fund for their educational future.
“Simpan SSPN Prime is an education savings product under PTPTN that provides various privileges and benefits to the Malaysian community.
“Among the advantages of the SSPN Savings account are competitive dividend rates, income tax assessment relief on net savings up to RM8,000 per year, Matching Grant up to RM10,000 for one eligible family, free takaful coverage, guaranteed savings by the government and shariah compliance, ” PTPTN said in the statement.
