Selangor set construction work hours from 8am-6pm

SELANGOR State Government has agreed to set the operating hours of the construction sector in the state from 8am to 6pm, effective Nov 1.

The construction sector will also operate from Monday to Saturday.

“The decision was made to facilitate the construction work process, in line with the opening of more economic sectors after Selangor moved to Phase 4 of the National Recovery Plan last October,” Selangor exco Local Government and Public Transport Ng Sze Han said in a statement today.

The government noted that the Movement Control Order which came into force since last year has had a direct impact on the operation of the construction sector, further resulting in late completion of construction works.

“In this regard, the government would also like to remind that construction work carried out outside the permitted hours must obtain the special approval of the respective Local Authorities,” Ng added.

The developer or contractor is also reminded to always adhere to the Covid-19 Standard Operating Procedures and laws.
