He will be accompanied by Foreign Affairs Minister Datuk Saifuddin Abdullah, Senior Minister of International Trade and Industry Datuk Seri Mohamed Azmin Ali, Tourism, Arts and Culture Minister Datuk Seri Nancy Shukri, and senior government officials from the PM’s office.

Wisma Putra said the summit will focus on the review and future of the Asean-China cooperation, including the enhancement of relations to a comprehensive strategic partnership.

“China has been one of the most dynamic partners of Asean, with cooperation and collaboration in various sectors across all the three Asean pillars,” the ministry said in a statement yesterday.

It added that Malaysia’s participation will reflect its commitment to further deepen Asean-China dialogue relations.

“We hope that the summit would pave the way for leaders to agree on mutually beneficial outcomes towards promoting peace, stability, security and prosperity in the region,” it added.
