KUALA LUMPUR – CIMB Group Holdings Bhd has nominated Lani Darmawan (picture) as the new president director and chief executive officer of CIMB Niaga.
In a Bursa Malaysia filing today, it said the appointment is subject to shareholders’ approval at the upcoming CIMB Niaga’s EGM on Dec 17 and thereafter approval by Otoritas Jasa Keuangan.
“Lani will succeed Tigor M. Siahaan. Lani, who brings with her more than 35 years of banking experience, is currently CIMB Niaga’s chief executive officer of consumer business and has been with the group since 2016,” the group said.
CIMB Group added that Lani is an established and proven leader in consumer banking with a strong track record in developing market-leading positions across the retail banking value chain, covering sales and distribution, product, preferred and wealth management, SME and digital banking.
The appointment was made after a thorough succession review and selection process, it said.
