BURSA Malaysia Bhd continues to partner with US-based software company, Red Hat Inc, to incorporate new technologies in the stock exchange platform, said Bursa group technology director Ashish Jaywant Rege.

“We are adopting new technologies in blockchain, computing, digital operation and data analytics,” stated Rege at a Red Hat’s media briefing yesterday.

According to him, Bursa is working closely with other regulatory bodies in developing the new technologies.

“We are working closely with regulators such as the Securities Commission, and we keep them posted on our plan like adopting the new technologies. So far, they have been quite welcoming to the new technologies as long as we were in the framework of the regulations,” said Rege.

He added Red Hat open-source solutions have allowed Bursa to scale its post-trading and public listed company announcement integration services, connect disparate applications and services, as well as reduce the time to market for the services by 20%.
