KUALA LUMPUR – The Malaysian Rubber Board (MRB) has announced that the Rubber Production Incentive (IPG) for smallholders was deactivated for October 2021 in the Peninsula, Sabah and Sarawak.
In a statement today, the MRB said that the IPG will only be activated if the average monthly price of SMR 20 free on board (FOB) is at RM6.10 per kilogramme (kg) or if the farmgate price falls below RM2.50 per kg.
“The average farm price for scrap rubber in October 2021 for the Peninsula is RM2.90 per kg, while in Sabah and Sarawak, it is at RM2.55 per kg, respectively.
“Therefore, no IPG payment was made for the month,” it said.
