THE government has yet to make any payments to MySejahtera application development company, said Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department (Special Functions) Datuk Dr Abd Latiff Ahmad.
In a Parliamentary written reply on Oct 28, 2021 he said that MySejahtera began as a Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) and ended its term as a CSR on March 31, 2021.
“To date, no payment has been made by the Malaysian government to the system and application developer company.
“In terms of payment for other costs in MySejahtera, the government led by the Malaysian Administrative Modernisation Management Planning Unit (MAMPU) which is made up of the Health Ministry (MoH), Ministry of Communications and Multimedia, Public Private Partnership Unit under the Prime Minister Department and the National Cyber Security Agency is still holding discussions on the matter,” he said.
He was responding to a question from Kepong MP Lim Lip Eng who asked for the government to state additional costs incurred for the app’s upgrade.
Abd Latif said the development of the app is inline with the Prevention And Control of Infectious Disease Act 1988 (Act 342) and the date compiled under the app belongs to the MoH.
“Data accumulated under MySejahtera app will remain as MoH’s property in accordance with Act 342,” he added.
