Covid deaths reach above 28,000 in Malaysia

DEATH cases due to Covid in Malaysia has reached above 28,000 with 69 new deaths reported Tuesday.

The death toll now stood at 28,062, according to CovidNow’s website.

Out of the 69 deaths, 11 were brought-in-dead cases.

Malaysia detected a total of 5,745 new cases as of noon today, pushing the cumulative cases to 2,401,866.

From the new cases, Health DG Tan Sri Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah said that only two percent or 115 patients are in the severe to critical category (Category 3-5).

This is also the second consecutive day where the daily new cases hovered within 5,000 mark.

The country identified 5,434 cases on Monday.

Active cases currently being treated nationwide further declined to 85,916.

The Health Ministry also stated that 676 cases are being treated in the ICU, with 330 patients are ventilated. –TMR/ pic by HUSSEIN SHAHARUDDIN
