THE Ministry of Tourism, Arts and Culture (MOTAC) has allowed companies and businesses under the tourism and culture subsectors to operate without having to apply through the Covid-19 Intelligent Management System (CIMS).

This is in response to the government’s decision to resume interstate travel as well as relaxed restrictions under the National Recovery Plan (NRP).

“This is however subject to employees who have completed their vaccinations (two doses) and is based on strict Standard Operating Procedures (SOP).

“Each company or business must display a copy of their latest Companies Commission of Malaysia (SSM) certificate and their business license from their local authorities (PBT) which is still valid,” MOTAC said in a statement today.

The ministry expects these industries to cooperate in order to comply with the SOPs and other government directives that have been issued through the National Security Council (MKN) from time to time.

Each company or business must ensure that the company or business premise’s number of employees does not exceed the maximum capacity allowed by the government.

“MOTAC would like to emphasize that the industry is fully responsible for complying with the conditions set by the government.

“A compound in accordance with Section 25, Prevention and Control of Infectious Diseases Act [Act 342] will be imposed if it fails to comply with the prescribed conditions,” it added.
