THE Malaysian National Film Development Corp (Finas) has taken action regarding a viral post on social media about Covid-19 infections in a production company at a filming location.
In a statement yesterday, Finas said it has taken proactive measures to monitor filming activities under the Special Filming Certificate at filming locations to ensure all production companies adhere to the standard operating procedures (SOPs) that have been outlined by the National Security Council.
“Finas has taken the initiative by channelling information and full cooperation to the Health Ministry for further action.
“Moreover, Finas’ Licensing and Enforcement Unit has opened a full investigation on this matter which will be conducted in accordance with Malaysia’s laws,” it said.
Finas reminded all Filming Protocol Supervisors who have been appointed by each production company to carry out their responsibility in ensuring the artists and crew follow the guidelines that have been established.
“We are ready to cooperate with authorities in addressing and resolving these issues to maintain the reputation of the creative industry.
“We also want to take more aggressive measures in monitoring and enforcing SOPs and welcome anyone to report to us if they find SOP violations involving filming activities,” it added.
For complaints, contact Finas’ Licensing and Enforcement Unit at 03-41041300 or email to email at [email protected].
