EXPRESS Rail Link (ERL) launched its upgraded KLIA Ekspress App to provide a better user experience to their customers to buy tickets easily and find better deals.

It also introduced its EkspreSmiles loyalty programme, which rewards customers with points for every successful booking which they can redeem for discounts on future purchases.

Transport Minister Datuk Seri Dr Wee Ka Siong said in his speech that the go and action are certainly in line with the nation’s aspiration to be a digital economy that will benefit daily commuters and travellers alike.

“The pandemic has created a greater emphasis on going digital and going cashless in our daily transactions, including on public transport.

“With all these advancements, it brought a much greater convenience, savings and rewards ERL sees at the forefront of cashless solutions,” he said.

ERL also will be offering a special RM1 joyride next month now that Klang Valley residents are able to freely travel again.

The event would be held on one weekend in November to be announced by ERL on its social media platforms.

Wee added it is crucial that the government recognise the need to fight climate change threatening the future generations and one fundamental way that the country can go green is by taking public rail transport which is a greener way to travel.

“As a nation progresses on the National Recovery Plan, our lives start to resume some sense of normalcy, where everyone can go back to their workplaces and start traveling again safely.

“Trains are also still considered the safest port of transport and with strict maintainers rigidity in place you can be assured office reliability and your safety and let us do our part in reducing our carbon footprint and take public transport with confidence,” he said.

The minister further added there is no doubt that the country has to continue practising the new norm such as wearing a face mask in public, maintaining a safe physical distance, whenever possible, and keeping good personal hygiene.
