MALAYSIA continues to report below 10,000 Covid-19 cases, with 9,380 cases.
To date, there have been 2,303,837 positive cases in the country since the pandemic outbreak in January last year.
Sarawak remains the highest daily infections contributor with 1,503 cases, followed by Kelantan – 1,170, Selangor – 1,116 and Johor – 1,105 new cases.
These states were the only ones reporting above 1,000 positive cases in the past 24 hours.
Labuan is the only area with single digit infection, having reported only eight cases.
Meanwhile 88.4 per cent of the adult population in Malaysia has received the vaccination.
Health Minister Khairy Jamaluddin Abu Bakar earlier said in a tweet that only 1.6% of the population needs to be vaccinated before interstate borders open.
“While the Health Ministry has transitioned to symptomatic testing, we encourage people who are in high contact & mobility settings to test regularly. If you want to balik kampung to see elderly parents, do a RTK saliva test. Keep them safe,” Khairy Jamaluddin said.
