ALOR SETAR – Holidaymakers in Langkawi can now enjoy duty-free shopping even more with the launch of the airasia travelmall, a first-of-its-kind platform that offers a convenient, digitised, and contactless duty-free shopping experience.
In a statement today, the budget carrier said the airasia travelmall platform comes under the AirAsia super app that envisions redefining the duty-free, travel retail and overseas products’ shopping experiences.
AirAsia super app chief executive officer Amanda Woo said In line with AirAsia’s strong commitment to making the Langkawi travel bubble a success, the carrier is thrilled to collaborate with the Langkawi Development Authority to offer the new digital and contactless duty-free shopping experience.
“This is just the first step, soon there will also be a full spectrum of fulfilment from inflight seat delivery, airport pickup, as well as hotel and home delivery with 13 Asean retailers on board with AirAsia’s duty-free offerings,” she said.
According to the statement, shoppers will be able to choose tax-free products across a wide range of categories via airasia travelmall for the first time in ASEAN.
“In addition to unbeatable duty-free prices, customers can enjoy same-day delivery whereby purchased items will be delivered to their designated location or hotel at the hour they choose, within the same day for all orders made before 4pm, giving a convenient and safer shopping experience,” said AirAsia.
Woo said this is the future of shopping and airasia travelmall is part of their unwavering support to continuously innovate and enhance their product and service offerings.
“The platform leverages the super app technology which connects users directly to the comprehensive inventory of products and their preferred delivery options, and is backed by a seamless and secured payment,” she said.
She also said the travelmall platform was carefully designed to support the digital transformation of duty-free retail stores in Langkawi.
