ALOR SETAR – A 3-0 whitewash of Kelantan United FC in Group C action yesterday has set Kedah Darul Aman FC’s ambition on fire for this season’s Malaysia Cup.
Kedah controller Aidil Sharin Sahak said the 3-0 demolition was the ideal start for his lads.
“Hopefully, the players will keep up their winning act against Melaka United this Thursday. Melaka are no easy foes but we have homeground advantage.
“What I need is to keep a focus that my players will be in better shape for the coming showdown,” he told reporters after despatching Kelantan United at Stadium Darul Aman here last night.
Aidil Sharin said the victory underscored his players’ mettle despite the team being anchored by young players.
“Credit goes to all the players…I am happy with the performance of the young ‘uns who have blended well together in the past few games with their winning ways. I hope this winning streak continues,” he added.
Meanwhile, Kelantan United head coach Nazrulerwan Makmor conceded to Kedah’s might as the Super League runner-up netted three times without reply.
In any case, he praised his boys for bringing the fight to the homesters’ den with multiple attempts in search of goals.
“I am positive that with five matches to come and Negeri Sembilan up next, buoyed with our might and strategy, my players will put their shoulders back to the wheel,” he added.
