TENAGA Nasional Bhd’s (TNB) wholly owned subsidiary, TNB Power Generation Sdn Bhd (TNB Genco), has helped the Orang Asli community in Gua Musang, Kelantan, to get the Covid-19 vaccines via the Orang Asli Vaccination Programme.

From Sept 14 to 17, a total of 288 Orang Asli have managed to be vaccinated with Pfizer and CanSino vaccines.

This makes up 90 people from the Pos Pulat tribe while 198 are from Pos Bihai tribe, where the company helped in facilitating the logistics for the vaccines.

Apart from helping them to speed up vaccination efforts, TNB Genco has also distributed essential food packs to 300 Orang Asli families whose livelihood were affected by the pandemic.

This initiative is a joint effort between TNB Genco, the Ministry of Health (MoH) and the Department of Orang Asli Development, which they also managed to facilitate almost 2,000 Orang Asli in Pos Brooke and Pos Hendrop, and also contributed essential food packs to the community back in Sept 2.
