Covid-19: 487 new deaths, 161 BID cases

MALAYSIA reported a total of 487 new deaths yesterday with 161 involved brought-in-dead (BID) cases.

This brought the total fatalities to 24,565 and the BID figures rose to 4,809.

Malaysia detected 14,990 new infections as of noon yesterday, pushing the cumulative positive cases to 2,142,924.

The number of recovered cases continued to outperform the new infections, with 19,702 cases.

There are now 201,274 active cases currently being treated nationwide, with 882 patients are in the ICU with 393 require respiratory aid.

Health DG Tan Sri Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah urged for all parties to improve ventilation system in their premises as it is vital to combat the Covid-19 spread.

Dr Noor Hisham said that all parties should refer and adopt the ventilation system guided proposed by the Health Ministry, Human Resources Ministry as well as the World Health Organisation (WHO).
