AEON Midtown Falim Shopping Centre in Ipoh has become the first centre for the Retail industry Vaccination Programme (RiVAC) with an aim to vaccinate retail workers in Ipoh, Perak.
The company said in a statement that a total of 10,000 vaccine doses have been allocated for the mall and it has begun the vaccination process to retail employees.
The 10-day programme administers approximately 1,000 retail workers with Pfizer vaccine daily, starting with 1,500 people of Aeon Midtown Falim ecosystem, followed by employees of other retail companies in Ipoh.
The first dose session was held between Sept 7 and Sept 16, 2021, while the second dose has been set to start on Sept 28 to Oct 7, 2021.
Aeon chief human resources officer and corporate communications director Dr Kasuma Satria Mat Jadi said the company’s goal has been to prioritise the health and wellbeing of the stakeholders within its ecosystem.
“We are very grateful to be given the opportunity to implement this vaccination programme with the support of Domestic Trade and Consumer Affairs Ministry and are honoured that in addition of being the Industrial Vaccination Centre with the implementation of this programme, Aeon Midtown Falim is also the first RiVAC centre in Perak,” Kasuma said.
Kasuma added that Aeon Midtown Falim is a continuation of the vaccination programme that was implemented at Aeon Taman Maluri Shopping Centre Kuala Lumpur last July with a total of 1,733 people involved in the ecosystem successfully completing their vaccinations.
Meanwhile, Aeon Big (M) Sdn Bhd head Sheikh Farouk Sheikh Mohamed said he was grateful to the Covid-19 Immunisation Task Force for the vaccine supply.
“We are confident that such support can make shopping malls a safer place to shop and further accelerate the achievement of herd immunity.
The success of Aeon Midtown Falim in becoming the first RiVAC in Ipoh will definitely be a historic milestone in us serving the community as well as our retail journey,” he said.
