TENAGA Nasional Bhd (TNB) has bagged gold at the Australasian Reporting Awards (ARA) 2021, a virtual event held in Sydney, Australia, with its integrated annual report, replicating its success from 2017, 2018 and 2020.
TNB company secretary Norazni Mohd Isa said the awards was a testament of dedication, hard work and the collaborative spirit of the people in TNB to produce an outstanding outcome.
“Collaboration is one of the six core values in TNB that is instilled to strengthen the bond among its 35,000 workforce to strive towards a common goal, which is to transform TNB into a leading provider of sustainable energy solutions in Malaysia and internationally,” she said in a recent statement.
On top of having won the gold award three times previously, the utility company had also won a Bronze in 2016.
The ARA was participated by corporations, government agencies and non-governmental organisations from the Asia Pacific region, and has presented the utility company with the Silver Award in the Sustainability Reporting as well as a Special Award for the Work Health and Safety Reporting.
In the Special Award judging report, ARA said the company’s integrated annual report provides excellent coverage of management policies and actions taken to improve employee health and wellness, and build a strong safety culture.
“It openly reports on fatal and high consequence injuries and the steps being taken to avoid them,” it said.
The event was established in 1950 to provide a platform for organisations to benchmark their annual reports against the strict ARA criteria, which is based on the world’s best practices.
Winners of the awards were tested based on the overall excellence of their annual report, core business aspects’ complete dis- closure as well as compliance with legal and regulatory requirements.
