Genting Plantations Bhd (GENP) has embraced agriculture tech to increase the productivity of its operations by working with Singapore based Adatos Pte Ltd, a leading provider of AI driven remote sensing analysis for agriculture and carbon markets.

In a statement today, Adatos said it has closed an undisclosed amount in a Series A funding round from GENP.

This latest round will enable Adatos to grow its business across palm oil and other agriculture verticals and deepen its capabilities within carbon measurement.

Adatos applies advanced AI to complex satellite data-sets to provide operational and strategic insights for agriculture and the fast growing multi-trillion dollar carbon markets.

“Adatos is proud to be applying its AI technology to these problems to provide valuable data driven insights resulting in higher crop yields, more efficient

fertiliser usage and better tracking of pests and diseases. Carbon markets also benefit through the use of remote sensing to speed up and radically lower the cost of carbon measurement in natural forests and peat soils,” said Adatos CEO Jonathan Paul

GENP has worked with Adatos for over 3 years.

“As our Group embarks on the use of precision agriculture in pursuit of operational excellence, our investment in Adatos and the deployment of its cutting-edge AI will place GENP at the forefront of the Agricultural Technology revolution,” said Tan Kong Han, CEO of GENP.

Founded in 2015, Adatos is at the forefront of the digital analysis of agriculture and the development of applications in the carbon market.

Adatos has worked on over 150 use cases and analysed over 400 million hectares of assets to date for a wide range of clients in agricultural production, food manufacturing, forestry, nature based solutions.
