Khazanah sells 138m shares in CIMB Group
KHAZANAH Nasional Bhd disposed of 138.44 million shares in CIMB Group Holdings Bhd that reduced its ownership to 25.66%, the banking group noted in a filing to Bursa Malaysia yesterday. The price was not disclosed in the bourse filing. Based on a back-of-the-envelope calculation, Khazanah would have raised RM668 million via the disposal exercise assuming it was sold at RM4.83 per share. Previously, the sovereign wealth fund held 2.7 billion shares in CIMB Group at a 27.01% stake.
MACC arrests Silterra’s key personnel
THE Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) has arrested several key management personnel of SilTerra Malaysia Sdn Bhd, a unit under Dagang NeXchange Bhd’s (DNeX) technology division, to assist in an investigation of a potential offence under the MACC Act 2009. DNeX, which provides services in the technology and energy sectors, said the investigation might potentially be related to a legacy issue, based on the limited information available to the company. “The company does not condone nor tolerate any form of misconduct among its employees and contractors and will ensure that SilTerra provides its full cooperation and assistance to the authority in their investigation,” it said in a filing to Bursa Malaysia yesterday. DNeX said SilTerra’s business operations would not be affected and there was no financial or operational impact to the DNeX group arising from the MACC probe. — Bernama
Leon Fuat posts 1,110% jump in net profit
LEON Fuat Bhd registered a 1,110.1% growth in profit after tax to RM32.12 million for the quarter ended June 30, 2021, compared to the RM2.65 million recorded for the quarter ended June 30, 2020. The group recorded a 73.1% growth in revenue to RM184.78 million for the quarter under review compared to RM106.76 million recorded in the second quarter of 2020. The surge in steel prices globally since last year and the gradual reopening of economies around the world contributed to the result, the company said in a statement yesterday.
Pasukhas to set up a consortium
PASUKHAS Group Bhd has entered into a memorandum of understanding with Porto Three Sixty Sdn Bhd and Perbadanan Ketua Menteri Melaka (CMI) to set up a consortium. In a filing with Bursa Malaysia yesterday, Pasukhas said the consortium would be able to participate in the bidding process for a waste-to-energy public-private partnership project in Sungai Udang, Melaka. The parties have agreed that the proportion of the shareholding in the consortium shall be 20% for the first party (CMI) and 80% for the second party (Pasukhas and Porto Three). The parties agreed to invest RM500,000. — Bernama
