Covid-19 cases rise slightly to 19,733

MALAYSIA reports a total of 19,733 new Covid-19 cases as of noon today, with eight cases having more than 1,000 infections.

Sarawak continued to contribute to the highest number of positive cases at 3,100, making it the only state with more than 3,000 cases.

This is followed by Selangor, which inches closer to 3,000 mark at 2,989 cases.

Penang and Sabah detected more than 2,000 cases with 2,474 and 2,067 respectively.

Other four states with above 1,000 cases are:

  • Johor – 1,867
  • Kedah – 1,564
  • Kelantan – 1,471
  • Perak – 1,319

Meanwhile, these states reported three digit cases:

  • Terengganu – 904
  • Pahang – 700
  • KL – 537
  • Melaka – 375
  • Negeri Sembilan – 256

Perlis and Putrajaya continued to detect single digit cases with 74 and 29 each,

Labuan remained having single-digit cases at seven.

According to minister Datuk Seri Dr Adham Baba, up to 69.6 percent of the adult population have been vaccinated in the country.
